Our Coffee
The Mermaid Cafe uses a La Marzocco espresso machine and the fine beans of K-Bay Caffe, a local coffee roasting company. Michael McGuire, owner of K-Bay Caffe, won the Torani Barista Cup in 1998. He explains,
"The positive impact great espresso can have on a person is one of the reasons we choose to participate in this medium. We have a wonderful opportunity to make a positive contribution to our community when serving espresso properly. We have direct, human contact with others at a point in their day when they are open to a positive interaction and a lift in their day."
Roasting and preparation are the keys to a perfect espresso and the Mermaid Cafe aims for the finest cup possible, always adhering to the
K-Bay Caffe motto: Where the bean meets the dream.
